Brutal Bitter

Kegged on February 24, 2011.

This was another Brewcraft kit that was created by Rogue. This kit also required Wyeast Pacman (1764) yeast. After I started brewing this beer I realized I forgot to pick up the yeast, and the local brewing store was closed. I ended up finishing the brewing process and then left the pot containing the wort covered in my fridge. The next day I picked up the yeast and brought the pot back to boiling to kill anything that might have contaminated the wort in my fridge.

The original gravity was 1.061. After six days in the primary I added the hops for dry hopping in a mesh bag. After an additional five days in the primary I transferred the beer to a carboy (I don't remember if I transferred the hops) where it stayed for 12 days, for a total of 23 days. The final gravity was 1.012; the alcohol content was 6.4%.

It was a good beer, although from a side by side comparison it wasn't as good as the Rogue Brutal IPA, which I am assuming the kit is supposed to be a clone of.
